Privacy Policy — Forest Forge

Last updated: 29 October 2026

Who we are

Forest Forge (also styled ForestForge) is an independent app developer based in Manchester, UK (Forest Forge Ltd, company no. 17498098). We publish apps on Google Play and run the website https://www.forestforgeapps.com. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact: forestforge.dev@gmail.com. Registered office: Forest Forge Ltd, Piccadilly Business Centre, Unit C Aldow Enterprise Park, Blackett Street, Manchester, M12 6AE, United Kingdom.

This policy covers the forestforgeapps.com website and all Forest Forge apps on Google Play, for example Rock N Split and Flappy Bully, and our other apps. Some apps may have their own page with extra detail; if they do, that page and this one apply together.

The short version

  • No accounts are needed in our apps.
  • Scores and settings are saved on your device.
  • Meridian and Return By keep everything you enter on your device. No account, no ads, no analytics.
  • Free / ad-supported apps show ads through Google AdMob.
  • Payments in our apps are handled by Google Play, and payments for Tradesman Tools on our website by Stripe. We never see your card details.
  • We do not sell your personal information.

The website (forestforgeapps.com)

  • Waitlist and contact notes you enter on the site are stored in your browser only (local storage). They are not sent to us unless a page clearly says so.
  • Hosting logs: the site is hosted by Vercel, which may log normal web data such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed. That is to keep the site running and secure, not to profile you.
  • Analytics: We use Vercel Web Analytics, provided by Vercel Inc. (USA). It is cookieless and collects anonymised, aggregated page-view data (page URL, referrer, browser/OS/device type, country) with no cross-site tracking and no personal profiles. See Vercel Web Analytics privacy policy. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.
  • Payments (Tradesman Tools): purchases on the website and in the Tradesman Tools suite (suite.forestforgeapps.com) are processed by Stripe using Stripe Payment Links. You enter your payment and billing details (such as card details, name, email address and billing country or postcode) on Stripe's checkout page, and Stripe handles them under the Stripe Privacy Policy, including for fraud prevention. We never see or store your card details. Stripe tells us the email address used at checkout, what you bought and whether the payment succeeded. We keep only your email address and a licence/purchase record (which tools you have unlocked) in our licence database (Upstash Redis, hosted through Vercel), so you can unlock your tools by entering that email. You can also enter a shop code, which is checked on our server and not stored against you. Our lawful basis is contract.

Our apps

Data saved on your device

Game data such as best scores, high-score tables, daily-challenge progress and settings (sound, controls) is stored on your device only. We do not receive it. It is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Meridian and Return By (ReturnBy)

Meridian (holiday medicine reminders) and Return By (the parking clock, also written ReturnBy) store everything you enter on your device only. In Meridian that means your medicines, dose times, trip dates and legs, dose log and the optional medical wallet (for example your conditions, clinic phone number, emergency contact and insurance details). In Return By it means your stays, pinned places, saved parking spot and settings. We do not collect this data, it is not sent to us, and we cannot see it. Neither app has accounts or sign-in, ads, or analytics. The data is deleted when you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

A few features only share something when you choose to use them. Meridian's trip PDF and calendar file, and Return By's calendar reminder, are made on your phone and go only where you save or send them. Return By uses your phone's location only when you save or update your parking spot or tap Will I make it?. The saved spot stays on the device, and Will I make it? works out the walking time on your phone. If you tap the button to walk back to your car, Google Maps opens with the saved spot as the destination, and Google handles that under the Google Privacy Policy. Like a website, the apps load their fonts from Google Fonts, and Meridian's web version is hosted by Vercel, so those services see normal web data such as your IP address.

Advertising in free apps (Google AdMob)

Free / ad-supported versions of our apps (for example Rock N Split and Flappy Bully Free) show ads using Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use: - your device's advertising ID, - device and app information (such as device model, operating system, app version, and ad interactions), - your IP address, - approximate location derived from your IP address.

Google uses this to show ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud and abuse. Google acts as an independent controller for some of this data. Learn more: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Consent for personalised ads (UK and EEA)

If you are in the UK or EEA, our ad-supported apps show a consent message powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalised ads are shown. If you do not consent, you may still see non-personalised ads, which use limited data (for example for fraud prevention and frequency capping).

To change your choice: use the "Privacy and ad choices" option in the app's menu to reopen the consent message. To reset or delete your advertising ID: on Android, go to Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads) and choose "Reset advertising ID" or "Delete advertising ID".

Purchases (Google Play Billing)

Paid apps and in-app purchases, such as the 99p "Remove ads" purchase, are processed by Google Play. Google handles the payment and your payment details under the Google Payments privacy notice. Our app only receives a purchase record (such as the product bought, an order/purchase token, and whether it is active) so it can unlock the feature and restore it if you reinstall. We never see or store your card details.

Crash and usage reports (Google Play Console)

Google provides us with standard Play Console reports, such as installs, crashes and app-not-responding errors, country, Android version and device type. These are aggregated or do not directly identify you, and we use them to fix bugs and improve our apps. Our apps do not include a separate analytics SDK. Apart from the aggregated install, crash and performance statistics Google Play Console provides, we use no in-app analytics.

Support emails

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply and help you.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Data is shared only with the service providers described above (Google for ads, payments and Play reports; Stripe for website payments; Vercel and Upstash for hosting, website analytics and the licence database), or where the law requires it.

How long we keep data

  • Support emails: up to 2 years after the conversation ends, then deleted. You can ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Tradesman Tools licence records (email address and tools unlocked): for as long as you may need to unlock what you bought. You can ask us to delete yours at any time; you would then need to contact us to restore access. Stripe keeps payment records under its own retention policy and legal obligations.
  • Play Console reports: kept by Google under its own retention periods; we view them in aggregate.
  • Hosting logs and website analytics: kept by Vercel for a short period under its own retention policy; analytics data is anonymised and aggregated.
  • On-device data: stays on your device until you clear the app's data or uninstall the app.
  • Website browser storage: stays in your browser until you clear it.

Children

Our websites and apps are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. Ads are not intended for children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email us and we will delete it.

Lawful bases (UK GDPR)

  • Consent: personalised ads and non-essential cookies/advertising identifiers, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Contract: processing a purchase you make and restoring it.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping our websites and apps secure and working, fixing crashes, preventing fraud, showing non-personalised ads, understanding anonymised website traffic with Vercel Web Analytics, and answering support emails.
  • Legal obligation: keeping records where the law requires it.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA you have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Email forestforge.dev@gmail.com and we will reply within one month. Data that Google holds as an independent controller (for example ad or Play account data) can be managed through your Google account and the links in this policy.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/ or 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to help first.

International transfers

Google, Stripe, Vercel and Upstash may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. These transfers rely on safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, Standard Contractual Clauses, or the UK–US Data Bridge.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when we add a new app or service provider. We will change the "Last updated" date at the top, and for important changes we will show a notice on the site or in the app.
